11. Arrow (season 4)

Worn by: Stephen Amell

There was so much excitement for Arrow season 4 before it aired. And then Arrow season 4 happened.

No, but seriously; that season had many shortcomings, but the suit was a completely separate issue. There was definitely excitement at the possibility of seeing Stephen Amell's broodier Emerald Archer wearing a more comic-accurate suit (especially as he was officially adopting the Green Arrow moniker) but that's exactly why it didn't work. The show's version of Oliver Queen wasn't the same as the comic book version, so a more comic-accurate suit didn't complement the character like we all hoped it would.

This is a hardened vigilante with very little sense of humor who goes out at night and takes on highly-skilled assassins and criminals. No I'm not talking about Batman okay! But for the record, would you see Batman going out in short sleeves?! And the short sleeves really were the issue, because there was no way Oliver could protect his arms from blades, sharpened playing cards, arrows, or gunfire (all of which he could encounter on any given night in Star City).

It also didn't really fit with the broody show that Arrow was, so when it was swapped out for a far superior suit in season 5, the vast majority of fans were happier with the upgrade.
