9. Island suit

Worn by: Stephen Amell

The Arrow persona didn't get its start in Starling City. It originated on Lian Yu when Oliver spent five years in Hell, battling demons both internal and external.

For those battles, he donned the green hood in a tribute to his mentor Yao Fei, who helped him learn to survive on the island.

The suit itself basically just consisted of the hood, collar and chest area, which Oliver often wore over the top of whatever other clothes he was wearing. It really wasn't a suit when you think of it like that, but it did allow Oliver to become a symbol and it ultimately helped him survive his time on Lian Yu (which we saw over the course of five seasons worth of flashbacks).

It was a simple start for the Green Arrow, but a very effective one.

Arrow, Green Arrow, Emiko

8. Emiko Adachi's Green Arrow suit

Worn by: Sea Shimooka

Oliver Queen's long-lost sister made her presence felt on Star City during the midst of a war on vigilantism, showing up as a new Green Arrow. Though it soon became clear that her intentions weren't as heroic as Team Arrow thought, she did temporarily don her own variation of the Emerald Archer's suit to keep up appearances, giving even Oliver's team the run-around when she first arrived.

Emiko's suit was modelled after Oliver's third Green Arrow suit (the season 5 one), which made sense considering it was the one he was wearing right up until his arrest and imprisonment. There were some slight modifications, particularly the fact that it was a slightly more streamlined design and it looked a bit less armored, too. Given that she eventually got injured when wearing it, it seems that was indeed the case.
