3. Arrow (season 5)

Worn by: Stephen Amell

You want to talk about an upgrade?! After Arrow season 4 missed the mark in many ways, the decision was made to go back to basics for the fifth season. That applied to all elements of the show, with a more grounded storyline that wasn't weighed down by melodramatic couple drama or overwhelmed by supernatural shenanigans, so it truly felt like the show had returned to its origins.

Oliver Queen donned a new suit for that rebirth and it was a beauty. It definitely channelled everything that made the original Arrow suit work, as it was a much more simple design. The long sleeves returned and the bulky padding in the shoulders were dropped, which instantly made it superior to the season 4 suit. It did take some of the good from that suit, though, as the chest and torso area featured a more padded look similar to its predecessor.

This was a much more natural next step for Oliver in his evolution from lone vigilante to experienced hero. It kept the essence of the original suit while also featuring the necessary upgrades to protect himself. The darker shade of green suited Oliver's M.O. much better too, as it allowed him to blend into the shadows and just be more mysterious, which is something we all know that the Emerald Archer likes to be.

Many consider this superior to the original Arrow suit and that's completely understandable; it's an epic redesign that felt totally in-line with something Oliver would wear while also serving as the perfect upgrade.
