2. Arrow (season 8)

Worn by: Stephen Amell

It's pretty ironic that, through all the fancy upgrades, Oliver Queen ended his journey as Arrow's Emerald Archer with a suit that felt very in-line with the original one. It was a subtle callback to the show's beginnings, and season 8 was full of those, allowing the show to bow out on an incredibly high note. It also meant that Oliver looked so damn good in his final battles.

Like the original, simplicity was this suit's best friend. It was far less armored than the other two Oliver wore throughout Arrow's run, which allowed for a more basic design. Arrow always benefitted from a less is more approach and this suit was the perfect example of that. It was a bit more basic, and this show did so well with basic.

One of my favorite things about this suit is the color scheme. There are multiple shades of green and black in there, paying tribute to many of the shades in the previous suits. The primary shade of green, however, which stemmed from the hood and recurred throughout the jacket, was a duller one; one that was brighter than the previous suit but not in the realm of the too-bright season 4 suit. The black in the lining of the hood also makes it pop a lot more, giving Oliver something of a larger-than-life, supernatural-esque feel - a feel that came in handy when he donned it again as The Spectre later in the season.

This was the perfect blend of Arrow old and new; and a perfect attire for the Emerald Archer to lay down his bow in.
