In 2018, Sony decided to roll the dice on one of Spider-Man's most iconic characters with a standalone film centering on antihero Venom. The origin story finds journalist Eddie Brock attempting to take down Dr. Carlton Drake after discovering his human experiments. During his investigation, Eddie finds his life changed forever when the symbiote known as Venom makes Eddie his host, granting him superhuman abilities.

The best part of Venom is without a doubt Venom and Eddie's dynamic which is off the charts! They're this odd couple, but it totally works. Venom's this snarky alien with a wild sense of humor, and Eddie's just trying to keep up. Their banter? Hilarious and kind of heartwarming which is not something I'd ever thought I'd have said about Venom before this movie.

Venom captivates audiences with its exhilarating blend of humor and action, making it a thrilling superhero movie unlike anything we had seen from Sony before. The seamless integration of comedy and intense action sequences keeps viewers engaged throughout. The film's perfect balance between light-hearted moments and adrenaline-pumping scenes creates an amazing superhero feature that is totally underrated by many.

It's movies like Venom that give us hope for Sony's Spider-Verse live-action franchise and has us wanting more movies like it.
