Another 5 MCU characters who definitely won't return in Phase Five

Brie Larson returned to the role of Captain Marvel in The Marvels and it was more than worth the wait. We hadn't seen her in action since Avengers: Endgame and it was super awesome that the hero got to team up with Kamala Khan's Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau's Photon. Honestly, The Marvels is incredibly underrated and it deserves more love from fans.

Even though the movie underperformed at the box office, we will definitely see Captain Marvel and the Marvels again. It might not be in their own movie, but all three will likely appear in Avengers 5 and / or Avengers 6. That being said, there is little reason to believe we'll see her throughout the remainder of Phase Five.

Looking at the slate of upcoming titles, there isn't really a believable place she could appear in. While a cameo in Deadpool and Wolverine wouldn't be entirely out of the question, that movie sounds like it will be more X-Men-focused. The other live-action movies are set to be more grounded titles while Captain Marvel works better in larger-than-life space-centric environments, which also rules out shows like Agatha and Daredevil.

There's a pretty high possibility that a version of the character might appear in Marvel Zombies but that show won't be canon to the MCU and therefore won't feature the Carol Danvers we know and love, so we're not counting that one.

Captain Marvel will return to the MCU, it's only a matter of when.
