With The Boys season 4 concluding with its renamed title (due to current events) of the season above finale of the same name, naturally, all the attention has been drawn to the spin-off series Gen V.

According to CBR (via The Wrap), we have a very promising update for season 2 of Gen V from Vernon Sanders, former Executive Vice President of NBC and current co-head of Amazon MGM Studios. Sanders has stated that episodes of Gen V are expected to hit our screens sometime in 2025.

Not only did Sanders confirm that Gen V has been in production since earlier this year, but he teased fans of The Boys are going to really love Gen V season 2.

He also expressed Amazon MGM is keeping in line with its showrunner, Eric Kripke’s vision of an arc carried over five seasons for their flagship show, including expanding the franchise with more spin-offs, which may also include The Boys: Mexico that has been in development since last month.

"This is all about Eric Kripke. We’ve had this incredible success because of his vision and execution and he’s told us for awhile that he believes this really should be a five-season series. Of course, we asked him, ‘Are you really sure it can’t go on for more?’ And he gave it some thought, but came back to his original vision for this, so we want to honor that. And similarly, if there’s more to this universe, which would we love, that’s ultimately going to be about him leading the path there," Sanders said.

Of course, the production of Gen V has not been without its hardships. The passing of the awe-inspiring, talented, yet auspicious Chance Perdomo delayed filming, but given the decision not to recast the character of Andre Anderson means he will be given a respectful “send off” that hopefully be endearing to both audiences and the actor’s family and loved ones.

The most interesting part is how Gen V season 2 will coincide with the fallout of The Boys season 4 given how Steven Calhoun (David Andrews) has usurped Vice President-elect Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) and President-elect Robert “Dakota Bob” Singer (Jim Beaver) for the position of President of the United States and pledged his allegiance to Homelander (Antony Starr) who has otherwise declared martial law with his army of Supes.
