Black Lightning

Black Lightning is perhaps one of the most underrated superheroes in DC Comics. A well-respected hero and a reliable member of the Justice League, he was finally introduced to more mainstream audiences when he headlined his own TV series on The CW. Though Black Lightning wasn't originally a part of the Arrowverse, the events of Crisis On Infinite Earths changed all that.

The Arrowverse version of Jefferson Pierce lives up to his comic book counterpart. He's a beloved member of the Freeland community and a high school principal committed to helping the youth of today have a better tomorrow. Like his comic book counterpart, he has electricity-based powers that he employs to go out and protect his community from harm.

There is so much power radiating through Jefferson's body that you can't help but look on in awe whenever he uses his abilities. Speaking of those abilities, Black Lightning is capable of unleashing lightning blasts from his hands, absorbing electricity and storing it in his body for however long he needs to. If he absorbs enough, he develops superhuman speed!

Aside from being a walking light-show with limitless power, Jefferson is also an incredibly skilled martial artist who could hold his own - and defeat - the very best of them. That makes him a threat with or without his powers, once again proving that Black Lightning is one of the most underrated - but effective - superheroes in the Arrowverse.
