9. Horimiya: The Missing Pieces

Admittedly, Horimiya’s sophomore season didn’t make as much noise as the first because season 2 told its story backward, from past to present. We didn’t mind this too much, especially because we think that it was a unique way to tell Hori’s story of her final days in high school that she doesn’t remember all too well. But perhaps you need a little more convincing!

Our favorite things of this season include (but are certainly not limited to) the character work of the side characters that we know and love, the deepening of Hori and Miyamura’s relationship and friendship, and the understanding of how Hori’s parents came together.

All these things highlight how great of a show Horimiya: The Missing Pieces has to be able to have so many side characters shine as much as the main characters. Hopefully, you’ll feel the same! There’s only one way to find out!

10. Tokyo Revengers season 3

Out of all the anime on this list, Tokyo Revengers season 3 is the most slept-on title by far.

Anime fans loved this one when it first came out in 2021, so much so that there were endless TikTok edits about every single character. (And if you know how many characters there are in this anime, you know that’s A LOT of TikTok edits.) Unfortunately, somewhere along the line, the hype for this series died down. But if there's any season that will reignite people’s love for this anime, it would be season 3.

Tokyo Revengers season 3 adapts the Tenjiku Arc, which is an arc where we see our favorite characters undergo the most trauma we think we’ve ever seen them experience. From Manjiro “Mikey” Sano losing yet another sibling to Takemichi Hanagaki witnessing loss after loss, it’s easier to count on one hand the people who aren’t going through awful trials and tribulations.

But the best part about these struggles is that the story doesn’t use these deaths in vain, and, instead, uses the bloodshed and heartbreak to make it all come together to tell an even more juicy tale. Of course, we don’t want to spoil it, so be sure to watch the new release as soon as possible!
