3. Peter MacNicol

Appeared in: Batman: Arkham City, Batman: Arkham Origins, Batman: Arkham Knight

Peter MacNicol is a veteran of the stage and screen, with countless roles to his name. He's probably best known for playing the eccentric John Cage in the revolutionary TV series Ally McBeal, which earned him an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor. However, a performance of his that isn't as well-known as that one is his outing as the Mad Hatter in the Batman: Arkham video game series.

If you've played Arkham City, Arkham Origins, or Arkham Knight, there is a pretty good chance you've never forgotten about your run-ins with the Mad Hatter. His high-pitched, grating voice is enough to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, and MacNicol deserves such appreciation for how effortlessly he captured that. Jervis Tetch is a deluded and desperate character and all of that comes across in his multiple appearances in the video game franchise.

Mad Hatter is an infuriating villain, and an annoying one at that. From his constant quotations to the tantrums he throws when he loses, MacNicol did such a wonderful job of crafting what might just be the best on-screen adaptation of the Mad Hatter yet. He sounded exactly like you would imagine the character to sound and honestly, our only criticism is that we didn't see (or hear) enough of him throughout the saga. What a performance!
