As we sit and wait for the highly anticipated Deadpool and Wolverine to land in theaters this summer, the rumor mill is definitely getting its workout. Yes, it seems there is a new one every day at this point.

If you haven't heard the latest, sit down and strap in because this scoop is enough to make any superhero fan's heart skip a beat. Rumor has it that the upcoming Deadpool sequel is about to skyrocket off the awesomeness charts. Why, you ask? You're not ready for this.

Insider Daniel Richtman states that Dafne Keen is reportedly making a grand return as Laura Kinney, aka X-23 - the fierce, claw-popping daughter of Wolverine could be set to slice and dice her way back into our hearts. Dafne absolutely stole our hearts in Logan with her perfect blend of intensity and vulnerability. Bringing her back means we're not just in for some humorous and 4th-wall-breaking action - we're in for an emotional rollercoaster that only a character as complex as X-23 can deliver. Imagine the drama, the internal conflicts, the father-daughter dynamics with Wolverine - sign me the heck up.

Channing Tatum could finally appear as Gambit in Deadpool 3

But just when you think it couldn’t get any better, Richtman is also reporting that Channing Tatum will appear as Gambit. Yes, the Channing Tatum, stepping into the ragin’ Cajun’s boots just in time for us to heal from X-Men '97. Gambit, with his suave charm and kinetic energy cards, has been a fan-favorite character just begging for the right spotlight, and who better to bring that swagger to life than Tatum himself? Imagine Gambit throwing cards, cracking jokes, and maybe flirting his way through some intense fight scenes. It'd be a visual and charismatic feast.

Tatum has been attached to the role of Gambit for a long time now. He was supposed to headline a movie focusing on the character set in the same universe as Fox's X-Men saga, but it never came to fruition. A 2020 release date had been set before the acquisition of Fox by Disney resulted in a delay. After the takeover, Disney officially cancelled the movie, ending the dream of Tatum playing the role. Or so it seemed.

The possibility of Channing Tatum finally getting to play Gambit on-screen is just too exciting, and it's one of the beauties of the MCU's Multiverse Saga (much like how John Krasinski finally got the chance to star as Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness).

Now, let’s talk about Gambit and X-23's roles. These aren’t just any cameos where they wave at the camera and disappear. Nope, it sounds like they are going to have substantial, meaty roles. This is also something that Marvel scooper MyTimeToShineHello supports, adding that the duo will team with Jennifer Garner's Elektra as a trio of resistance fighters who stand against Cassandra Nova. This means we would get to see Laura and Gambit woven into the main storyline, interacting with Deadpool’s irreverent humor and Wolverine’s gruff attitude. The potential for witty banter, thrilling action sequences, and some heart-tugging moments? Unlimited!

And let’s not forget the backdrop against which all of this will unfold. Deadpool and Wolverine promises a mash-up of humor, action, and maybe a touch of tragedy (because, let’s face it, it’s Deadpool and Wolverine). How will our heroes navigate the challenges thrown their way? How will the dynamics between such strong personalities play out? The anticipation is killing me!

All I'm saying is, let’s keep our fingers crossed that this rumor is as true as it is exciting. If it pans out, Deadpool & Wolverine won't just be a movie - it’d be a monumental event in the superhero cinema landscape. A perfect blend of emotion, action, and that signature Marvel wit - what more could we ask for?
