4. Henry Cavill's Superman

Let's kick things off with the very first character we discovered wouldn't be back for more DC movies, and that was Henry Cavill's Superman. The originator of the DCEU, the Man of Steel was set to make his long-awaited comeback to the shared universe of superheroes after a cameo appearance in Black Adam ended a long drought for fans of the character. Unfortunately, it was confirmed shortly afterwards that all those plans had been scrapped and Warner Bros. would be moving forward with a new DC Universe.

Cavill had played the role in 2013's Man of Steel, 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, both cuts of Justice League, and Black Adam. The DCEU never really made the most of his character, so his potential return had everyone excited to see where it go. Sadly it just wasn't to be, as it will all begin again with the DC Universe.

The Man of Steel will return in the DCU as Superman: Legacy will officially launch the new saga of films on the big screen. David Corewnswet is set to don the legendary cape in what is easily one of 2025's most anticipated movies. So if you're a fan of Superman, you'll undoubtedly be thrilled that he's making an imminent comeback to movie theaters. It just won't be the version you met in the DCEU movies.
