6. Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman

When we talk about Superman's legendary relationship with television, Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman is one of the shining examples of that. The '90s series brought the Man of Steel and Lois Lane back to the small screen after the Christopher Reeve movies had sent his star into the stratosphere, but it also reinvented their story, prioritizing the relationship between Clark Kent and Lois Lane.

You might think that a show focused on Supes' personal and professional life at the Daily Planet wouldn't offer up that powerful of a Superman, but it's really quite the opposite. Sure, he's just starting out his career as a full-time crimefighter, but he's been learning and honing his abilities since his days in Smallville, which meant that he was fully ready to take flight when the series began. And he did too, saving a spaceship launch from destruction by swallowing the bomb planted on it. It would be the beginning of a remarkable four season journey that would see Clark use flight, heat vision, strength, and more as he became the legend known as Superman.

While Lois and Clark's special effects haven't aged all that well, the reliance on Clark using his intuition to figure out unique ways of situations has. It's a staple of the Superman lore, and the show's use of it really highlighted how important the Clark Kent persona was to Superman's success. It just might be his greatest strength.
