4 DC shows that definitely won't be back

A new era is set to begin for DC Studios, but don't expect to see these shows return for new seasons.

These past two years have been a really trying time to be a DC Comics fan. The most frustrating part about that is that it largely has nothing to do with the quality of the content, but a number of behind-the-scenes decisions that robbed audiences of almost all of their favorite DC movies and TV shows.

The Warner Bros. and Discovery merger resulted in new leadership at the former. That new leadership has plans for a new standalone, single, coherent shared universe of DC superheroes and villains, which sadly meant that the majority of the current projects had to be cancelled. That resulted in the end of the DC Extended Universe (or DCEU to its fans) and all of the movies that were in development for that franchise (including one completed movie).

On the network TV end of things, it was equally as frustrating. The CW Network was also overtaken by new management that wanted to move away from the DC TV era, meaning that almost all of the Arrowverse shows were cancelled or "final seasoned", ending the greatest era of superhero TV we had ever seen.

But even with the dark days of 2022 still looming large for DC fans, there was hope. A new DC Universe is on the rise, with projects across film and television in the works, and a few of those remaining DC shows survived, meaning that a new DC TV era was on the horizon.

But of those few DC survivors, the end is still nigh. Whether the shows just recently wrapped up their runs or they were simply designed to run for just one season, here are multiple DC shows that won't be back for new seasons (and why).
