3. Voldemort

Of course, we can't have a list of the most disliked characters in Harry Potter without Voldemort making the top 3. Look, I think we all hate Voldemort, but in terms of villains in books, TV, and movies, Voldemort is one of the best villains, and that's the only reason he's top 3 instead of the most disliked character in the Harry Potter series.

Born Tom Marvolo Riddle, Lord Voldemort seizes power using dark magic, gaining notoriety from fanatic followers and outcasts, and using any means necessary to accomplish his goals. It's interesting, though, because it's hard to pinpoint if Voldemort actually stood for anything. He's simply obsessed with power, self-preservation, and defeating death, and he used some truly awful means on the way there.

There's no limit to the terrible things that Voldemort did in the Harry Potter series. I mean, the whole premise is that he tried to kill a baby, a literal baby, and a mother's love for her child prevented that from happening. Somehow, he's No. 3 on the list of disliked characters, but that's because the top two are just irksome. We'll get there shortly.

Voldemort is the worst of the worst, but his lack of self-awareness and pride is eventually what leads to his demise. Eventually, this miserable being gets what his but at a great cost to everyone in the Wizarding World.
