If someone asked you to list 10 of the biggest superheroes, chances are that at least half of the ones that come to mind would be DC heroes. DC Comics has gifted us with some of the most legendary superheroes of all time, including (but definitely not limited to) Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern, Supergirl, Batgirl, Green Arrow, Black Canary, and Martian Manhunter.

While those heroes have all starred in their own stories within the comics, DC has also revolutionized the movie landscape, bringing costumed crimefighters to the big screen as early as the 1950s. While Marvel Studios definitely took that one step further in today's generation with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, films like Superman: The Movie, and Batman (1989) paved the way for them to do that. And DC themselves would get in on the trend too, launching its decade-long DC Extended Universe project (which is now being reset and relaunched as the DC Universe).

There have been plenty of highs and lows in the decades of DC movies, but which ones stand out as the very best (and worst) of the legendary franchise? Let's find out, as we prepare to take on the tall task of ranking every single DC Comics movie ever made.
