7. Krypton

Krypton is an all-too easily forgotten part of the Man of Steel's legacy. It's time to fix that by showing it some of the love it deserves.

Created during the major wave of superhero television in the mid-2010s (thanks to the success of the Arrowverse), Krypton was Syfy's exclusive part of the DC Universe. A prequel series set around 200 years before Superman is born, the show took place on Krypton and centred on the hero's grandfather Seg-El. It's a time when the House of El aren't the royalty they become in the future, so it's safe to say that Seg-El's world is turned upside down when a mysterious stranger from the future tells him of his grandson's future heroics.

The beauty of Krypton was that it was a blank canvas. Sure, it knew the future it was working towards, but it had 200 years of uncharted territory to play with and explore, and it had a fun time doing so. From Cameron Cuffe's understated but powerful performance to the introduction of major Superman characters like Brainiac, Zod, and Lobo, there was a wealth of potential in Krypton and the fact that it was cancelled before it could fully live up to that will remain one of TV's biggest mistakes in recent memory.
