5. My Adventures With Superman

The most recent adaptation of the Man of Steel, My Adventures With Superman is a delightfully refreshing animated series that has quickly flown its way into DC fans' hearts - and for good reason.

The show might retread Superman's arrival and the beginnings of his romance with Lois Lane but it manages to do it all in a modern way that still retains the endearing nature of the classic interpretations. It's a little like Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman but with less competition between them. They work more seamlessly together here, along with their buddy Jimmy Olsen, as the core trio attempt to figure out the "mystery" behind Superman's arrival - a mystery that Clark is obviously conflicted about.

The series is also a beautiful mixture of colors and style, with its Shōnen anime style complementing the classic DC characters incredibly well, all while setting it apart from the previous animated Superman shows. That's part of what makes My Adventures With Superman feel like you're watching this classic story for the first time.

There is a charm to this show that cannot be engineered. It's there naturally, and we can't wait to see it again when the series returns with its second season.
