On February 10th, New York City became a pivotal epicenter for anime enthusiasts as it hosted the much-anticipated Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - To the Hashira Training world tour.

The highlight of the evening, other than the incredible movie itself, was undoubtedly the Q&A session with Japanese voice actors Natsuki Hanae (Tanjiro Kamado) and Hiro Shimono (Zenitsu Agatsuma), and producer Yuma Takahashi, who shared their insights and personal connections to their characters and the series.

When asked about their favorite aspects of playing their respective characters, Hanae expressed a deep connection with Tanjiro's unwavering love for his family and his relentless determination to protect them. Shimono, on the other hand, revealed his fondness for Zenitsu's duality—his usual cowardly demeanor starkly contrasted by his prowess and cool-headedness in battle, showcasing a character depth that resonates with fans for its relatability and growth.

Yuma Takahashi, asked which character he relates to the most, chose Tanjiro without hesitation. His reasoning was simple yet profound: Tanjiro's role as the main character not only makes him pivotal to the story's progression but also embodies the essence of "Demon Slayer" with his virtues of courage, empathy, and unwavering determination.

Also, imagine my surprise when none other than Channing Tatum and his daughter joined us in the world tour, cosplay and all. I had no idea he enjoyed Demon Slayer as well - makes me like him even more.
