Gabriel Basso gives fans exciting The Night Agent season 2 update

Christmas has come early for fans of Netflix's action-thriller, The Night Agent! While we've still got a long wait ahead of us before the second season arrives on Netflix, the breakout series is inching one step closer to making its way to our screens!

Star Gabriel Basso, who plays the title role of Night Agent Peter Sutherland in the series, has revealed that production on season 2 of The Night Agent will begin at the beginning of the new year. That's right, filming is fast approaching which means the show is back on track for a potential 2024 release.

"We start filming The Night Agent season 2 in less than 2 weeks!" Basso teased via Instagram Stories on December 23. "Y’all are in for it this season. Thank you for your patience."

The Night Agent season 2 will begin filming in January 2024

Although an exact filming date has not been set, Gabriel Basso's Instagram post suggests that filming will begin around January 6, 2024. This means the show will be among the first Netflix series to begin filming at the top of the new year which makes sense given Netflix is sure to want to prioritize the series.

The first season of The Night Agent was a sleeper hit for Netflix racking up more than 168 million hours viewed in its first week on Netflix and cracked the Top 10 in over 90 countries! Netflix was quick to take note of the show's overnight success renewing The Night Agent for a second season just days after its premiere.

Originally, it was expected that filming on season 2 would begin sometime in 2023. Instead, The Night Agent was one of many shows delayed by the actors' and writers' strikes. Now, it seems cameras will begin rolling on the show's 10-episode second season at the beginning of January which means there is a strong possiblity season 2 will be completed in time for Netflix to drop season 2 sometime in late 2024!
