Are you also a Guardians fan who's still grieving and moping after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, waiting and ready to relive fun moments and hilarious dialogue we were constantly spoiled with by the franchise? Hear me out - go to Disney.

But, Cam, why Disney?!

I, as always, am so glad you asked.

Strap in for a ride that's as wild and wacky as Rocket Raccoon's dance moves, because Disney World's Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is here to take you on a thrill ride across the galaxy that's as epic as Star-Lord's mixtape - literally, you can "collect" songs and endings with every go in this ride.

Located at EPCOT, Cosmic Rewind is not just any roller coaster - it's a storytelling spaceship. This ride is one of Disney's first "storycoasting" adventures, where the thrills on the tracks sync up perfectly with the Guardians' universe. From the moment you step in, you're part of the Guardians team. Yep, you've been recruited, and it's time to save the galaxy (again)! Though, Drax does have some reservations about that.

A space adventure like no other

Imagine chilling with the Guardians when suddenly things go sideways (as they always do). The action starts in the Galaxarium, a planetarium-like exhibition showing Earth and Xandar. But because it's the Guardians, things quickly escalate from educational to exhilarating. From incredible and hilarious intro dialogues by Terry Crews and the Guardians crew to... well, I can't spoil much of it, but trust me - this ride is entertaining from the get-go.

Before you can say I am Groot, you're spinning through space and time in a ride vehicle that's got more moves than a Groot dance-off. And the best part? This coaster rotates 360 degrees. That means you'll face every twist, turn, and epic moment head-on, all perfectly timed to an awesome soundtrack that'll have you feeling like you're in the movie.

Now, take me for example. I am a chicken. I also have some minor heart issues that while I keep an eye on them, they do allow me to go on rides, and they make me extra sensitive to G-force pulls some coasters drag us on. But on this trip, I was ready to put the chicken to rest and enjoy rides while being hosted by Disney for a media invite-only event that will forever stick with me. As odd as this may sound, the fact that you ride the entire coaster in the dark (save for a giant screen full of awesome Guardians scenes and battles) makes the ride even more enjoyable. The G-force pulls and the sudden turns and twists will definitely have you screaming (hi, I have no voice), but for good and fun reasons.

It's basically Space Mountain, but Guardians edition. Speaking of Space Mountain - I rode that coaster as well and my phone managed to slip away from my pocket. Fret not, it was immediately found by the cast members and returned without a single scratch! Disney magic, I tell you.

It's all about fun and chaos

What makes Cosmic Rewind so special is how it captures the heart and chaos of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. It's not just a ride - it's an adventure with your favorite intergalactic misfits. Every element, from the visuals and music to the storytelling and ride mechanics, is infused with the same humor, action, and heart that make the movies a blast. And, in true Disney magic style, you get to live through it all.

Prepare to laugh your space boots off as Rocket messes with the equipment or as Quill drops one-liners mid-crisis. But also get ready to scream (in a good way) as you quite literally zoom through the cosmos, dodging asteroids and alien attacks. And let's not forget the soundtrack - because what's a Guardians ride without killer tunes to jam to while you're saving the universe?

There are a total of 6 different songs you can experience while on the ride, and at least two different "endings". The songs are:

  • "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears.
  • "Conga" by Gloria Estefan.
  • "I ran (so far away)" by a Flock of Seagulls.
  • "Disco Inferno" by the Trammps.
  • "One Way or Another" by Blondie.
  • "September" by Earth Wind and Fire.

The different "endings" come into play once the ride is over and you're debriefing with the Guardians. I, the former chicken, rode Cosmic Rewind twice and got two different songs ("September" and "One WAy or Another"), but got the same ending twice. Meanwhile, one of the PR reps who took us around the parks and gave me and a select group of media/influencers a trip of a lifetime has gone on the ride seven times and, every single time, she's only gotten to hear "September". I say she just needs to keep on trying - that ride is entirely too much fun without the Gotta Catch'Em All song game anyway.
