4. Robin Atkin-Downes

Speaking of different Oliver Queens, the version we saw in The Dark Knight Returns was perhaps the most unique of them all. Belonging to something of a dystopian future-set DC Universe, the aged vigilante has grown weary of the world; standing up to the system as a rebel and helping Batman do the same.

Robin Atkin-Downes voiced this version of the character and you only had to hear him speak for a few moments to know that he nailed the portrayal. You can hear the resentment that Ollie harbors towards the government through every single line, and it makes his final stand to aid The Dark Knight all the more effective.

It's a shame that the character's use in the movie was limited, because Atkin-Downes was so captivating in the role that I would have loved to have seen a whole movie devoted to this Oliver's backstory, showcasing how he ended up here.

3. Kin Shriner

While the majority of Green Arrow's animated appearances didn't leave an awful lot of time for Oliver Queen to be explored, Justice League Unlimited made something of an exception to that rule. Yes, Ollie spent most of his time as the Emerald Archer during that series, but as he was one of its many major additions to the Justice League line-up, there was some time to give us a glimpse at the man behind the mask.

If you're familiar with the DC Animated Universe, that won't come as a surprise to you, as the shows produced for that shared universe were always of a high quality. As were the voice actors chosen to play the roles. The casting of Kin Shriner as Oliver Queen was no different.

There was a light-heartedness to the DCAU iteration of Oliver that just made it feel like he had been pulled straight from the comics. Yes, he had quite the formidable look when suited up as Green Arrow, but that didn't prevent Shriner from bringing his rather comic-accurate portrayal of Ollie to the character's heroics. Whether he was wearing the mask or not, this Emerald Archer felt inherently Oliver Queen. And that, plus the exploration of his relationship with Black Canary, provided Shriner will a lot of opportunities to deliver a nuanced performance, but in a very Oliver Queen kind of way.

As far as voices go, this is how we imagine Ollie should sound.
