Somehow, someway, House of the Dragon season 2 is nearing its halfway point. The stunning HBO prequel series to Game of Thrones dominated TV screens throughout its first season in 2022, and it has very quickly picked up where it left off. The second season has seen the war for the Iron Throne kick off in bloody fashion and it looks like it's all set to continue in the weeks ahead.

The third episode of the season saw Rhaenyra Targaryen attempt to reach her former friend, Queen Alicent Hightower, in King's Landing and appeal to her better judgement. It very nearly worked, as a conversation between the two eventually led to the latter realizing that she might have misunderstood her husband Viserys' dying words. But in the end, Alicent is now powerless in the game of thrones as the decision has already been made.

Is Rhaenyra's unsuccessful attempt to fix things the last straw? Is war upon King's Landing, or can it still be stopped? If you'd like to know how to watch this week's installment and get some answers, here's what you need to know.
