How you can watch X-Men '97 episode 8 online
By Mark Lynch
Previously, on X-Men ‘97, Rogue let her frustration out on everyone who deserved it. Among them was Bolivar Trask. The X-Men assumed Trask died after Rogue dropped him off a building, but that wasn't the case at all. Trask was alive but his body wasn’t his own. Someone turned him into a Sentinel.
The X-Men were getting their butts handed to them until Cable returned from the future. After he defeats Trask, Cable drops two bombs on the X-Men. First, he reveals to Scott Summers that he is his son, Nathan. Second, Nathan tells the X-Men that someone worse than Mr. Sinister is working with Essex. That’s when the scene cuts to Bastion talking down to Magneto.
The Master of Magnetism is strapped to a chair with a power-inhibiting collar around his neck. Bastion appears to prepare Magneto to be one of his human sentinels.

Operation Zero Tolerance is coming
The X-Men are approaching their most dangerous fight yet. They’re going up against Bastion during Operation Zero Tolerance. In the comics, the U.S. Government captured and killed mutants. If this is anything like the source material, you should expect a lot of fighting. However, there's one major difference in the X-Men '97 adaptation: Bastion has Magneto. What he does with him will affect the rest of the series.
This is the first installment of the three-part finale of X-Men '97 and the episode's official synopsis teases as much, telling us:
""The X-Men must unite to face a new threat.""
There are a few positive things to take away here. First, Storm will likely make her triumphant return. Her teammates don't know she has her powers (and a cool new look). That should be an exciting moment. Second, Sunspot will finally fight with his powers. He has yet to accomplish much so far but now's the time. He’ll finally show the world he’s a proud mutant.
Lastly, Wolverine is going to have a moment here. So far, he's one of the few X-Men who haven't had a prominent stand-alone scene, and considering how prominent he was in the original show (X-Men: The Animated Series), that's shocking. He helped destroy the Master Mold, but that was a team effort. Look for Logan to do something he never did in the comics. He could even end up killing people.
