14. Octopussy

Synopsis: James Bond is assigned to solve the murder of agent 009, killed in East Germany clutching a fake Fabergé egg. The trail leads to India, where an enigmatic woman operates a smuggling ring under the cover of a travelling circus. However, her real motives prove to be far more sinister, and Bond uncovers a plot to blow up a US Air Force base in West Germany.

Octopussy is the second to last Bond movie to feature Roger Moore in the lead. Unfortunately, one of his last portrayals as James Bond was met with mixed critical receptions due to its campiness. But even then, the movie won a Golden Reel Award for Best Sound Editing with Maud Adams being nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Saturn Awards.

  • Amazon: The movie can be rented for $3.99 or purchased for $14.99
  • Apple TV: The movie can be rented for $3.99 or purchased for $14.99
  • Google Play: The movie can be rented for $3.99 or purchased for $14.99

15. Never Say Never Again

Synopsis: An aging James Bond (Sean Connery) makes an uncharacteristic mistake during a routine training mission, leading M (Edward Fox) to believe that the legendary British Intelligence spy is now past his prime. M indefinitely suspends Bond from active duty. However, when SPECTRE member Fatima Bush (Barbara Carrera) and her fellow terrorists successfully steal two nuclear missiles from the U.S. military, M must reinstate Bond, as he is the only agent who can beat SPECTRE at their own game of espionage.

Never Say Never Again marks the end of an era. After a 12-year hiatus from the franchise, Sean Connery came back to play the iconic role of the MI6 Agent 007 one more time. However, it was a short-lived return since the 14th official Bond movie was his last. The movie was released on October 7, 1983, and it was the only film in the saga to be directed by Irvin Kershner.
