The new Kaiju No. 8 trailer is a rollercoaster of action!

Between the reveal of how our protagonist, Kafka Hibino, obtained his ability to transform into a monster to the introductions of some of the most important characters you'll meet in the series, the brand-new trailer for Kaiju No. 8 is a perfect introduction to everything that's in store for this anime.

In addition to the story, the trailer gives us a snippet of the catchy and inspiring opening and ending song for the new season.

What is Kaiju No. 8 about?

In a world where monsters run rampant, it's up to humans to defeat any and every foe that stands against them. But the monsters are only getting stronger with time, much to humanity's disappointment.

Just when all hope seems lost, a strange but needed miracle happens --- a human is granted the ability to transform into a monster. This power changes the game and gives humanity the upper hand in defeating this monster once and for all.

"Kafka hopes to one day keep his pact with his childhood friend Mina to join the Japan Defense Force and fight by her side. But while she’s out neutralizing kaiju as Third Division captain, Kafka is stuck cleaning up the aftermath of her battles. When a sudden rule change makes Kafka eligible for the Defense Force, he decides to try out for the squad once more. There’s just one problem—he’s made the Defense Force’s neutralization list under the code name Kaiju No. 8."
