Don Cheadle first appeared as James Rhodes, also known as War Machine, in Iron Man 2, which was released in 2010. Cheadle replaced Terrence Howard in the franchise after Howard starred as James Rhodes in the first movie. Reportedly, pay discrepancies and a feud with Robert Downey Jr. were the reasons Howard left the franchise.
Cheadle appeared in the second and third Iron Man movies before linking up with the Avengers in Avengers: Age of Ultron. He plays a huge part in Captain America: Civil War and later in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Since then, we've seen Cheadle as War Machine in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and Secret Invasion.
Cheadle has more MCU projects in the works, too! Originally billed as a Disney+ series, Armor Wars is now going to be a movie starring Cheadle. It will be interesting to see where that fits into the next part of the MCU, but it's still happening, according to reports. There's very little known about the movie, though. So, we'll just have to wait and see what happens with that one, but we should still plan to see Cheadle in the future of the MCU and moving up on this list!
