The Marvel Cinematic Universe has presented us with plenty of villains over the years, but these guys put the "bad" in bad guys.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a rich and expansive landscape full of unique characters and compelling storylines. It ought to be, for it's been around for over 15 years and has gone on to become the most successful movie franchise in box office history. To say it's been an experience for fans watching all of this come together would be understating its success; but hey, it's been an experience.

One of the main focuses of each movie set in the MCU is - no surprise - its villain. Every great hero needs an antagonist to take them to the limit and question their resolve, because when all is said and done, the victory at the end of the film will solidify that hero as a force to be reckoned with and a worthy protector.

The MCU has gifted us with some great villains over the years. Thanos, of course, comes to mind, but he's not the only one. From Michael Keaton's exhilarating Vulture to Michael B. Jordan's intimidating Killmonger, Marvel Studios has produced some of cinema's greatest bad guys, and those bad guys ultimately make for better movies.

That said, the MCU has also produced some villains that audiences just couldn't get behind; bad guys so underdeveloped or dull, you can't help but roll your eyes whenever they come on-screen with their one-dimensional remarks. Yes, it's hard to believe given how far the franchise has come, but it's true; and now we're going to take this opportunity to go back and revisit some of them, as we look back on some of the worst, most hated, and overall disliked villains the MCU has ever seen.
