8. Kro

I genuinely didn't know that Bill Skarsgård was in Eternals. I watched Eternals on opening day... on the big screen. And I genuinely didn't know he was in it. Maybe I forgot? I don't know, but I can safely say that I wasn't the only one who did.

You know you've messed up when you have an actor the caliber of Bill Skarsgård in your ensemble cast and nobody notices. We're talking about one of the finest actors of our generation and freakin' Pennywise from IT. Sure, the movie had a star-studded cast, but he had the advantage of playing the villain and... nobody noticed.

That's all down to the fact that Kro was a CGI beast with little depth, present for all of the major battles but offering nothing to them beyond a fancy combat style and some great special effects. It was a waste of a great villain who Marvel Comics fans were really excited to see adapted in the MCU. Unfortunately, the Deviants and their arc just didn't translate to the big screen in the way that all involved had hoped. And we're somehow saying that about movie with a near-three-hour runtime.

Kro had potential but none of it was realized and thus he has become every bit as divisive among MCU fans as Eternals itself.
