4 Marvel shows that definitely won't be back for season 2

Marvel is reportedly considering renewing multiple shows for second seasons, but don't be expecting to find any of these ones to be on that list.

Agatha All Along

The most recent Marvel Disney Plus series, Agatha All Along has received critical acclaim right out of the gate, with fans responding to it extremely positively as well. But no matter how popular it is, the show is not expected to return for a second season simply because it was designed to function as a spooky spectacular for the Halloween season - something that it is doing to perfection.

Agatha is essentially a nine-part Special Presentation, taking us inside the MCU's wonderful world of withcraft. It's very standalone in that sense, even though it's a spinoff of WandaVision spotlighting Kathryn Hahn's Agatha Harkness, so we are expecting a neat conclusion after the credits roll on the finale.

It was always expected to be a one-and-done project, but that was essentially confirmed earlier this year when a report from The Hollywood Reporter revealed that it, and upcoming series Vision Quest are considered part of the WandaVision trilogy. Each of the three shows are separate installments in a three-part story, continuing the overarching story while focusing on different characters within it. That right there unfortunately means that all three of them will be standalone adventures.

Agatha All Along taking its cues from WandaVision isn't a bad thing, as that show is widely-regarded as the best of the MCU Disney Plus shows. It reinvented the MCU for TV and bowed out without overstaying its welcome. The fact that Agatha will be doing the same highlights what a wise approach it is.
