Marvel has landed on the Avengers 5 story, but at the cost of major MCU characters

As per Murphy’s Multiverse (through infamous Hollywood insider Daniel Richtman), apparently the story for Avengers 5 formerly known as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty has been cracked and it seems it will come at a major cost.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness scribe, Michael Waldron, took over writing duties from Jeff Loveness following the underperformance of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. According to Richtman (also known as Daniel RPK), Marvel Studios plans on welcoming back several actors to reprise their roles as members of the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, though The Fantastic Four are not expected to suit up anytime soon in the movie that was touted around town by mere speculation.

With most key members of the Avengers either killed off or de-commissioned, it’s hard to say who is going to lead in the fifth installment of the Avengers, which in the end may not involve Kang the Conqueror. Of the candidates to assemble this time around maybe Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) as the new Captain America, Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), and Spider-Man (Tom Holland).

Other worthy contenders possibly could be Letitia Wright’s Shuri as Black Panther, Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk, and Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange. Daniel RPK said other numerous like Shang-Chi, Ms. Marvel, and Moon Knight may not make the cut. Bob Iger’s statement on them largely being a focus on core franchise characters from proven media franchises, could affect the scope of newcomers going forward.

With Marvel Studios likely presenting at SDCC and D23, we should be getting some news about the upcoming slate of Marvel films and perhaps even find out who might be coming back for some of the upcoming Marvel projects.
