It seems yet another Avenger is about to make their way back into the MCU.

Recent years have not been the kindest to the Avengers.

Avengers: Endgame brought about the deaths of Iron Man and Black Widow; Avengers: Infinity War saw Vision and Gamora killed by Thanos in his quest for the Infinity Stones; many fear that Steve Rogers’ Captain America will pass away in Captain America: Brave New World; T'Challa’s Black Panther tragically passed away of an unknown illness in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever; and, most recently, the Scarlet Witch perished in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness after destroying the Darkhold and bringing Mount Wundagore down upon her.

Following these deaths, we thought we’d never get the chance to see the characters or the actors behind the characters back in the MCU again. However, Marvel just keeps proving us wrong.

Vision returned in WandaVision, an alternate timeline version of Gamora entered the picture officially in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Chris Evans returned to the MCU via Deadpool & Wolverine playing the Human Torch, and at SDCC it was revealed that Robert Downey Jr. will be returning to the MCU to play Doctor Doom

Needless to say, death doesn’t always mean the end of a character or actor’s journey within the MCU and that sentiment is about to ring true again it seems.

Is Elizabeth Olsen returning to the MCU? Rumors seem to hint she is!

When the Scarlet Witch seemed to sacrifice herself in the closing act of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, fans were immediately convinced that that couldn’t truly be the end of Elizabeth Olsen’s time in the MCU or the last we’d see Wanda Maximoff in the MCU. Ever since the film’s release, fans have been looking out for any sign that Wanda wasn’t really dead and that we hadn’t seen the last of Olsen in the MCU, with speculation running rampant regarding a return for Scarlet Witch.

With the lack of updates of any kind from Marvel Studios, there has been a growing concern that Scarlet Witch was going to end up joining the growing list of incredible female characters who were fridged by Marvel and that we might never get to see a proper resolution to Wanda’s journey. However, it seems the day we feared might never come has finally arrived!

While Marvel has yet to make an official announcement, all signs are pointing toward Elizabeth Olsen returning to the MCU to bring Wanda Maximoff back into the mix!

Less than 24 hours after Deadline first reported that Olsen was expected to return for the untitled Vision series set to start filming in 2025, trusted Marvel scooper Daniel RPK is reporting that “Olsen is a lock to come back for a Marvel project that is filming in 2025.” This seems to confirm she will be back as Wanda in the Vision series, which honestly makes total sense.

Vision and Wanda’s storylines have long been intertwined within the MCU and we finally got to see the proper exploration of their relationship in WandaVision, which remains one of the most critically acclaimed titles Marvel Studios has ever released. Given the Vision series is said to be the final chapter in the trilogy Marvel began with WandaVision and will continue in Agatha All Along, it makes complete sense that Wanda would be involved in the storyline set to be told. After all, how can you bring closer to this story about Wanda and Vision without Olsen?

Of course, with Olsen expected to return for the Vision series, one has to wonder if it will truly mark her first appearance back in the MCU following Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as there has been a lot of speculation that she could appear in Agatha All Along. Everyone connected to the project has kept their cards close to their chest making it hard to know whether we might see Olsen’s Scarlet Witch in the series, so we’ll have to wait to see whether she makes a cameo or whether we’ll indeed have to wait for the Vision series to see Wanda back in the MCU again.
