Marvel rumored to have officially inked a deal to bring back Defenders star

It seems Charlie Cox’s Daredevil won’t be the only member of Netflix’s Defenders lineup making the jump to the MCU.
From the moment Marvel first announced Daredevil: Born Again, fans have been eagerly anticipating the possible returns of other members of the Marvel-Netflix universe to make the transition into the MCU via this new chapter.
At first, it seemed like Marvel was perhaps trying to distance itself from that particular chapter when it was reported that most of the Daredevil ensemble wouldn’t appear in the Daredevil: Born Again, but that’s since changed with several members of the cast set to appear including The Punisher star Jon Bernthal reprising his role as Frank Castle aka The Punisher, a role he first originated in Daredevil.
Now it seems that Marvel has officially inked a deal with former Marvel-Netflix series lead Krysten Ritter, who won the praise of audiences for her performance as Jessica Jones.
According to new reports floating around social media including from insider Marvel Updates, Ritter has agreed to return as Jessica Jones in an upcoming Marvel project and there’s a good chance that project will be Daredevil: Born Again.
Jessica Jones is rumored to appear in Daredevil: Born Again
While it’s now being reported that Krysten Ritter has inked a deal to return for a Marvel project, the truth is that fans have been speculating for months now that Ritter is returning to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again which makes one wonder if these new reports are alluding to that role – the show will air in Spring 2025 – or if they could be hinting at Ritter signing on to another project.
Ritter began creating a stir about a possible return as Jessica Jones through a series of social media posts that seemed to allude to a return, including a photo shared in January wearing a shirt Jessica Jones wore in the show with the caption “IYKYK.”
Then in April, photos leaked online suggesting that Ritter was on the set of Daredevil: Born Again filming scenes for the series. The validity of those photos was never confirmed, but in the photos, we see Jones once again donning her character’s signature attire on the streets of New York suggesting that Jessica will pop up in Daredevil: Born Again in some capacity.
If these rumors are true, it seems highly likely that Marvel might be gearing up to use Daredevil: Born Again to bring Jessica Jones into the MCU, which would make total sense. The Marvel-Netflix shows were all connected and came together in The Defenders, so it makes sense that Marvel would look to use Daredevil: Born Again to reintroduce fan-favorite characters from the franchise back into the MCU where they can hopefully take on larger roles.
Fans have been begging Marvel to bring Ritter back to lead another season of Jessica Jones, and a return in Daredevil: Born Again would mark the first step toward Ritter taking on an expanded role within the MCU.
