Marvel Strike Force celebrates its 6th year anniversary with a new Deadpool-focused campaign
By Scott Brown
Good news, Deadpool fans! March 28 is the 6th year anniversary for the turn-based mobile game Marvel Strike Force so in honor of that it has been announced that, starting today, all players will have a new campaign centered around everyone’s favorite annoying mercenary, Deadpool.
Players will have access to this new campaign as well as new rewards with a new chapter releasing every week from March 4th through March 25th. This four-chapter narrative campaign follows Marvel's "Merc With A Mouth" as he is tasked with a mission in which he acquires a time travel device that could possibly have major effects on the Marvel Strike Force timeline.
On this mission, Deadpool will be joined by Marvel Strike Force original characters, Kestrel, Deathpool, Spider-Weaver, and Vahl, as the player makes their way through the four-chapter long campaign. Kestrel is a founding member of the eponymous S.T.R.I.K.E. and uses her portal gun to blast away enemies. Deathpool is, as the name implies, the daughter of Deadpool and, well, the physical embodiment of Death in the Marvel universe. Spider-Weaver is a Navajo weaver that was given the task of safeguarding the Web of Life and Destiny, which she uses to protect herself and her allies. Vahl is the last Asgardian of their universe and utilizes the relics of this near extinct society to both revive teammates and deal heavy damage to their enemies.
For new players who are joining Marvel Strike Force for the first time, if they use the code DEADPOOL, they will receive a five-star Deadpool character and extra resources that can be used in the game, so that they can begin their journey.
This isn't the last time that Deadpool will be making a splash on the pop-culture landscape this year as his upcoming third film will release this summer. Deadpool and Wolverine will mark the character's arrival in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Ryan Reynolds' fast-talking antihero will team up with Hugh Jackman's X-Men mainstay Wolverine.
