Of all the Disney Plus Marvel Studios shows on the horizon, Wonder Man may be the most intriguing. Very little is known about it, but as the weeks go on, more and more news begins to make its way onto the internet.

Now, Deadline has broke the news that the series has officially added Lady in the Lake star Byron Bowers to the cast.

Details have been minimal as of now, to admit, and in patent Marvel fashion, the trade confirmed that it is currently unknown who Bower’s character will be.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently discussed the show on The Official Marvel Podcast, revealing that Wonder Man is "extremely different" from anything the MCU has tackled before. That's obviously a very exciting update, but hopefully the first of many to come in the coming weeks and months.

Still, it should be known that fans may be surprised by an update about the show during Marvel Studios' panel at SDCC, which has been confirmed to take place in the hallowed landscape of Hall H later this month on July 27 at 6 P.M. PST to 7 P.M. PST, so it’s likely for fans to expect a plethora of details from the 1-hour presentation, with all signs pointing to Kevin Feige and company bringing some exciting updates and announcements from the Marvel brand.

Destin Daniel Cretton and Stella Meghie will direct multiple episodes of Marvel Studios’ Wonder Man. Under the creative leadership of head writer Andrew Guest, the show boasts a stellar cast, including Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Lauren Glazier, and Demetrius Grosse. Byron Bowers now joins that cast, which also features MCU veteran Ben Kingsley, who is expected to reprise his role as Trevor Slattery. Cretton will also be an executive producer, along with Feige himself.

Marvel Studios’ Wonder Man is slated to premiere on Disney Plus, but the release date remains shrouded in mystery, adding to the intrigue and anticipation surrounding this highly-anticipated series. It won't be a part of 2024's line-up and, with 2025's potentially confirmed, we might be looking at a potential 2026 release window. With that said, the character of Wonder Man has appeared in various animated projects and a few video games, so it only felt natural that Simon Trent would eventually move from the comics to live-action.

Next on Marvel Studios’ content timeline is Deadpool and Wolverine, which looks to be a game-changer for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The R-rated film is set to arrive in theaters on July 26.

After that, fans can also look forward to Agatha All Along on Disney Plus, which is slated to debut with a two-episode premiere on September 18.
