6 Marvel TV characters we deserve to see in Avengers 5
Ever since WandaVision premiered on Disney Plus in 2021, there has been no shortage of Marvel shows released on the streaming platform. That opened the door for fan-favorite characters to be introduced on the small screen, expanding what already was a huge universe of interconnected stories on the big screen.
Audiences would show up week after week to watch new episodes of their favorite heroes fighting against the unknown, saving the day, and leaving things on a big cliffhanger to keep us all engaged. There was only one thing more exciting than watching someone like Ms Marvel steal the spotlight on her standalone show, and that was seeing her share the big screen with other beloved heroes.
With Avengers 5 (formerly known as The Kang Dynasty) on the horizon, it would be the perfect opportunity for characters introduced in a self-contained show to finally step into the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe. Just like Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau had the chance to star in The Marvels alongside Captain Marvel, it's time for others to do the same. And wouldn't you know it, but we have a few candidates who would be ideal for this scenario. So without further ado, here are six Marvel TV characters we deserve to see in Avengers 5!
1. Moon Knight
Some know him as the vigilante Marc Spector, others as the peaceful Steven Grant, and we all want to see what he's capable of as the relentless Jake Lockley. However, there's just one name that instantly comes to mind when he wears the white suit to face off against the supernatural and that's Moon Knight. Oscar Isaac's series is one of the best Disney Plus projects released featuring a Marvel hero as a protagonist. The star gave the performance of a lifetime by playing three different alter egos on the small screen, each one of them with unique personalities, traits, and mannerisms. We all loved his character and all the different personas living within him, so why stop at a Disney Plus series?
Fans eagerly look forward to Moon Knight's return. Unfortunately, we don't know yet exactly when or where will that happen. Will Marvel finally renew his show for a second season? Or could they have bigger plans in store for his character? After all, it has been reported that Moon Knight will be one of the titular heroes set to stop Kang (or any other villain that takes his place) in Avengers 5.
Since no official news regarding a second season of the beloved Disney+ show has been announced, the next project most likely to feature Marc Spector would be Mavel's upcoming crossover. And, let's face it, we all want to see if Moon Knight would get along well with other MCU heroes. But in case he ends up skipping Avengers 5 we could always look forward to Midnight Suns.
2. Kate Bishop
The Hawkeye series surprised everyone when it originally premiered on Disney+. It's safe to say no one expected much of it, as it was set to be a smaller story featuring everyone's least favorite Avenger. But the show's Christmas setting, the excellent touches of buddy comedy, and the unexpected introduction of Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin made it an instant classic worth re-watching every year during the holidays. And while the show had multiple positive aspects going for it, they all fell short of the introduction of Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop.
Much like Spider-Man before her, Kate is just a teenager excited to join this universe of heroes, gods, and aliens. She's willing to do the right thing no matter what, even if it means endangering her life considering she doesn't even have superpowers. Hailee's character became an instant favorite among fans, so it's no wonder we all want to know when we'll get to see her next. Better yet: the answer could be a big one.
Considering Kate will join the team of New Avengers formed by Ms Marvel, it would be unfitting for them not to join the fight in Avengers 5. After all, both heroines are excited to jump at any opportunity to save the day and to join forces with other Marvel heroes. Even if they don't take on a main role, they can always be set up as key characters for Avengers: Secret Wars. But one way or another, it appears Kate's next appearance in the MCU will be in a big-screen crossover and we couldn't be more excited.
3. White Vision
Paul Bettany has been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe ever since its inception. Audiences first got to know him as the man - or, rather, the voice - behind J.A.R.V.I.S. in Iron Man. However, as time went by, we saw him suit up as the powerful Vision on the big screen. Unfortunately, there was an ever-lasting sense that Marvel didn't quite know what to do with his character after his debut in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
He was just kind of there in Captain America: Civil War. Besides that, he was injured during most of the events of Avengers: Infinity War, unable to put up a fight against the aliens threatening our world. Vision just made a shallow act of presence for the second time in a row, which is disappointing considering he had every right to steal the spotlight. After all, the Infinity Stone on his forehead was a key part of the movie's plot.
All of these wasted opportunities finally came to an end when WandaVision premiered on Disney+. Vision had a better arc that saw him slowly unravel all of Westview's mysteries. It was a joy to see Paul Bettany actually have something to do for a change, even if it led to his character's demise. But now that Marvel has cracked the code behind how to make a great Vision story - and that a new iteration of the character is roaming the streets of the MCU - we need to see his return on the big screen.
We now know that White Vision will headline his own Disney Plus series in 2026, be he could be also be a great addition to Avengers 5, as he could discover his true origin while facing the MCU's biggest threat yet. Besides, after everything he's gone through with Earth's Mightiest Heroes in the past, it wouldn't be right to have another Avengers movie and not include him. Come on, Kevin Feige, you know what needs to be done.
4. She-Hulk
Much like every other hero we've talked about up until this point, we have no idea where will Jennifer Walters show up next in the MCU. Actress Tatiana Maslany spoke about how a second season of She-Hulk is unlikely due to how expensive the first season was. But even if Disney decided against moving forward with her standalone series, that shouldn't mean we won't see more of her on other Marvel projects. After all, she's already crossed paths with Daredevil and is pretty eager to know when will the X-Men join the fight. So a big crossover with other heroes would be a perfect place for She-Hulk to appear in.
Now that Deadpool will officially join the MCU with the highly anticipated Deadpool & Wolverine, there needs to be at least one crossover movie where he and She-Hulk battle each other to see who can break the fourth wall the most. It would be such a perfect opportunity that Marvel shouldn't let it go to waste. So what better place to have that sequence than in Avengers 5? Granted, perhaps Earth's Mightiest Heroes' next adventure would be a little bit stacked with characters if everyone we've mentioned so far made an appearance. But we just need two minutes. Two minutes of Wade and Jennifer acknowledging they are the only two heroes that can talk to the audience and it would be more than enough.
5. Scarlet Scarab
Ever since both Scott Lang and Hope Pym got to use a super suit in Ant-Man and The Wasp, the pair of heroes has been seen together without fail in the MCU. They helped Earth's Mightiest Heroes defeat Thanos during the events of Avengers: Endgame and also stopped a Kang variant in Quantumania. So, in a similar fashion, audiences deserve to see Moon Knight and Scarlet Scarab save the day alongside each other in future projects rather than having them go their separate ways.
Layla El-Faouly is a badass archaeologist and Marc Spector's wife. But if that wasn't enough, she also became Taweret's avatar and was granted superpowers by the end of Moon Knight's first season. Now, it's just a matter of time before audiences watch suit up again after protecting Cairo from dark mythological beings. However, chances are this time we could see her fight against something completely out of her element in the form of a multiversal threat.
If Moon Knight makes an appearance in Avengers 5, then it wouldn't be surprising in the slightest if Scarlet Scarab also shows up as well. Besides, that would be a nice way of keeping fans engaged on Marc's and Layla's stories before they (hopefully) return for a second season of Moon Knight. It would be unfitting if she and Marc weren't at least acknowledged in Earth's Mightiest Heroes' next adventure. At the very least, they should appear in a post-credits scene setting them up to show up in Secret Wars.
6. Ouroboros
Let me ask you a few questions. What Marvel character knows a lot about the Time Variance Authority and branching timelines? Who helped stop Kang's evil plans once and could do it again? Who could help reach Loki at the end of time if the multiverse starts to collapse? And, most importantly, who is such a beloved character by fans that everyone would cheer at the top of their lungs if he made a big-screen appearance? That's right, the answer to all of those questions is none other than O.B. himself.
Ke Huy Quan absolutely stole our hearts when he played the role of Ouroboros in the second season of Loki. So, yes, I admit part of the reason he was given a spot on this list is because it would be awesome to see him in any Marvel project, let alone an Avengers movie. But, on a more serious note, he's perhaps the MCU character who knows the most about Kang and the multiverse (along with Loki, of course). But since the God of Mischief is busy holding the multiverse together, then Earth's Mightiest Heroes might look to Ouroboros for help. It would make sense story-wise for him to make an appearance in Avengers 5 and, let's face it, who wouldn't want that to happen?
