Marvel Studios has been pressing the reset button on the Marvel Cinematic Universe since the beginning of Phase Four. From the moment that Avengers: Endgame brought about the end of the Infinity Saga (and resulted in the departures of many original cast members), the MCU has been in flux as it continues to build out its Multiverse Saga across both films and television. The most recent reset has seen the studio scaling back on its content due to some underperformances, as well as more of a focus on characters guaranteed to make fans tune in.

One such project is Daredevil: Born Again, but the upcoming Disney Plus series hasn't been without its own resets. The good news is that this is one fans can get behind, particularly as it has been revealed that another former cast member of the original Daredevil series will be reprising their role.

Daredevil's Vanessa Fisk will return for Born Again

New set photos from stevesandsNYC have revealed that Ayelet Zurer will reprise her role as Vanessa Fisk in Daredevil: Born Again. As reported by The Direct, the actress is seen in the photos performing a scene alongside Vincent D'Onofrio, who is playing Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. the Kingpin.

Zurer previously played the role of Vanessa in Netflix's Daredevil series, but she wasn't expected to return for the Disney Plus reboot. While D'Onofrio and Charlie Cox were always set to reprise their roles as Fisk and Matt Murdock (due to other MCU properties introducing them ahead of the show's arrival), the events of the Netflix series initially weren't canon to the Marvel Studios shared universe. As a result, the role of Vanessa had been recast, with Sandrine Holt being announced as the actress to replace Zurer.

However, as part of Marvel's attempt to rework much of the MCU, the initial plan for Daredevil: Born Again was scrapped after it had begun filming and that meant that the show had to be completely redesigned. While not all of the details about the rebrand have been revealed yet, it is clear that the decision has been made to canonize the Marvel Netflix shows, as original Daredevil cast members were subsequently confirmed to return for the second iteration of Born Again.

Zurer's return as Vanessa is just the most recent comeback. Deborah Ann-Woll will return as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and Jon Bernthal will also be back as The Punisher.

That, and the fact that the Marvel Netflix shows are now listed among the MCU titles on Disney Plus, very much suggests that Daredevil: Born Again will be a sequel series to the Netflix show. Needless to say, this is the news that fans of the show - and fans of Zurer's Vanessa - will be thrilled to hear.
