Every X-Men ranked from weakest to strongest
15. Shadowcat
Shadowcat, or Kitty Pryde as she's known to her friends at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, slides into the ranking at number 15.
Now, you might be thinking, "But wait! She can walk through walls! How cool is that?" And you'd be right - it's incredibly cool. Kitty's phasing ability allows her to become intangible, making her untouchable in a fight and a master at espionage. She can dodge bullets, walk through walls, and even disrupt electronic equipment by passing through it. This makes her an invaluable asset for stealth missions and a tricky opponent in battle. However, when you're ranking the X-Men, being cool doesn't always equate to being the most powerful.
So, why isn't she closer to the top? When you stack her up against mutants who can control the weather, manipulate magnetism, or teleport across the globe, Kitty's powers, while unique, have their limitations in a direct confrontation. She can't physically harm her opponents while she's intangible, and she's vulnerable when she re-materializes. Plus, as nifty as her abilities are for sneaking around, they don't pack the same punch as some of her more combatively gifted teammates. This doesn't take away from her importance or diminish her role - after all, every team needs a character who can sneak into the villain's lair undetected or save a teammate by phasing them out of harm's way.
Kitty Pryde's ranking reflects a balance between her invaluable niche abilities and the limitations she faces against the heavyweight hitters of the X-Men universe.
