Eli Roth returned to this big screen in 2023 with Thanksgiving, a pleasant surprise full of creative kills and funny moments. The horror-comedy is about a small Massachusetts town with a killer on the loose dressed up as John Carver around the Thanksgiving holiday. The movie leans into over-the-top and hilariously ridiculous moments that'll have you entertained from start to finish.

Thanksgiving knows what kind of movie it wants to be, and if you're in for a fun kill-fest that gets right to the point, you'll get what you're looking for with this one. It's on its way to becoming a new holiday horror classic, and a sequel is already in the works.

In their feature-length directorial debut, YouTubers Danny and Michael Philippou (also known as RackaRacka) captivated audiences this year with Talk to Me.

The Australian film follows a teenager named Mia, who, along with her friends, is introduced to a supernatural hand that allows you to make contact with the dead. After losing her mom, Mia is willing to risk the danger to speak to her again, which leads to dark consequences.

Talk to Me is incredibly fresh, creepy, and unpredictable. The performances are great, especially from lead Sophie Wilde, as is the soundtrack. It's a must-see for horror lovers.
