Yellowjackets doesn't play around when it comes to getting its viewers all in their feels. Here's a list of some of the most saddest moments in the thriller series so far.

7. When Van is mauled by a wolf in season 1, episode 7

I'm not going to lie... I thought it was over for Van when she got attacked by a wolf in the wilderness. While the other girls were able to fend off the other wolves, Van was mauled so badly in the face that the skin of her cheek was ripped off and you could see her teeth. Even her teammates had thought she died, so they prepared to burn her body. But just as the fire begins to heat up, Van stirs awake, and the Yellowjackets quickly move her body.

What makes this situation even worse is the fact that this is the second time Van escaped death. Remember in the second episode of season 1 when she was stuck in the burning crashed plane? She somehow managed to escape the plane unscathed, which was surprising since the fire was really close to her and she was trapped in her seat. And not to make things sadder, but I have to mention adult Van getting cancer. Van is definitely one of the Yellowjackets characters who got the short end of the stick.

6. When Crystal falls off a cliff and dies in season 2, episode 5

Crystal, whose real name was Kristen, was one of the Yellowjackets JV members stranded in the wilderness in 1996. While she was disliked by most of her teammates for her constant singing and humming, she eventually formed a bond with Misty that turned sour quickly.

As Misty and Crystal grew closer and closer, they pretty much became inseparable. Crystal revealed secrets about herself to Misty, like how she absorbed her own twin in the womb and how her real name was actually Kristen. This prompted Misty to want to share some of her deepest secrets too. Believing that she could trust Crystal, Misty tells her that she destroyed the plane's emergency transmitter.

After finding this out, Crystal's face completely falls, and she wants nothing to do with Misty anymore. But Misty panics and starts threatening to kill her if she tells anyone else. In fear, Crystal backs away from Misty as she approaches her, but soon, she reaches the end of the cliff they're standing on and accidentally falls to her death. This was a sad moment because Crystal didn't deserve to die, and Misty did actually view her as a friend. However, I'm not sure if Crystal would've lived that much longer, even if she hadn't fallen because she knew Misty's secret. We've already seen what Misty is capable of.
