Ms. Marvel season 2 hasn't been announced (but there is still hope for season 2)

Although Ms. Marvel season 2 has not been confirmed, we're curious as to what could be happening next for the young superhero.

Ms. Marvel AKA: Kamala Khan (played by Iman Vellani) has become quite the familiar face in the MCU lately. After the success of Ms. Marvel season 1 which premiered in 2022, the Captain Marvel superfan starred alongside her hero and Monica Rambeau in last year's The Marvels.

Although the film did not perform well, we've been rather curious if Kamala will return for Ms. Marvel season 2. Neither a renewal nor cancelation has been confirmed, which means a lot is speculation.

When Vellani was asked in an interview last year with THR about the status of season 2, she responded with, "I am patient, and honestly, I hope all the love that Kamala is getting from this movie inspires people to be more vocal about wanting a season two. I would absolutely love to continue this story, and Kamala and her entire community has so much story left to tell."

Unfortunately, that means even the star of the show can't provide any information. Considering The Marvels, alongside other MCU films like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Eternals also had poor receptions, (not to mention the uncertainty of Kang the Conqueror's future in the MCU), it's possible the MCU is going in a completely different direction than originally planned.

The Marvels set up a bigger story for Ms. Marvel

Incoming spoilers if you have not watched The Marvels: When we last left Kamala at the end of the film, she seemed ready to recreate the Avengers, starting her first recruitment; Kate Bishop from Hawkeye. Kate, like Kamala, is also a superhero superfan but of Hawkeye AKA: Clint Barton.

Both young women are powerful, steadfast, humorous, and ready to take on whatever challenges lay in their wake. It's unclear what their roles in the future of the MCU will be, but the two characters are expected to play a major role in the upcoming films including the long-rumored Young Avengers projects Marvel is said to be working on.

Ms. Marvel is expected to be the leader of the team and it's clear that Marvel is planning on her being the catalyst that brings the team together in the MCU. So while we might not know whether a second season of Ms. Marvel will happen, we do know Marvel clearly has big plans for the character and she could be playing a pivotal role in leading the Young Avengers.

We'll be keeping our eyes and ears open for more updates and hope that Ms. Marvel will return to the MCU in the near future. Perhaps we'll be getting a better idea about what is going on for the MCU during SDCC!

We'd like to know your theories and what you think will happen next for Ms. Marvel and the ever-expanding MCU. In the meantime, you can watch Ms. Marvel season 1 on Disney Plus.
