Before the release of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, developer Rocksteady revealed that new villains would be added to Task Force X's roster which initially consisted of Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, and King Shark. That promise was finally fulfilled when the Joker was included as a playable character in the first post-launch episode back in March 2024. So now that date has come and gone, it's time to look at what the future holds for Rocksteady's latest live service title. And thanks to a new Easter Egg, we might just know the answer.

Rocksteady loves to add many different secrets to their games for players to find, so of course this time was no different. As discovered by the veteran channel Batman Arkham Videos, the map of Metropolis was updated to add a small tease that may hold big implications for the future. A small section of the city is switched up with that of a parallel universe - one completely covered with ice. And we all know that can only mean one thing: one of Batman's greatest nemesis is coming.

Mrs. Freeze could be a new playable character

While the Easter Egg could hint towards many different villains - such as Captain Cold - chances are it's referring to the one and only Mr. Freeze. How are we so sure about this? Well, data miner Miller Ross revealed back in January all of the post-launch characters that Rocksteady is currently working on. That list, of course, includes Batman's coldest enemy as well as other heavy hitters. You can watch the full leak below, but be warned: there could be potential spoilers ahead for Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League.

Interestingly enough, it appears Victor Fries won't be wearing the cryo suit this time around. Instead, it will be Victoria Fries, a female version of the character that comes from another universe. Perhaps Victoria is looking for a cure to save her husband from a rare disease, much like Victor's story in our world. It will be interesting to see what Rocksteady is able to do with this new take on the iconic supervillain.

Miller Ross also revealed in January that the Joker we'd see in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League would be a multiversal version of the character. Time proved him right regarding that, so chances are the leaks about Victoria Fries were true as well. But when can we expect Mr. Freeze to finally join Task Force X?

June could mark Victoria's introduction

As stated by Miller Ross back in February, Mrs. Freeze was set to be added to the game "in 4 months" from that date, which would put her release around June. If that ends up being the case, then perhaps Rocksteady could show up at Summer Game Fest - which is set to take place on June 7- to finally unveil their next playable character.

It'll be interesting to see if the introduction of Mrs. Freeze will revive interest in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. However, it could also put the final nail in the coffin of a dying game. Given that there are less than 200 active players in Rocksteady's latest title, Victoria will need to put up great numbers for developers to keep supporting the game. Otherwise, they might just call it quits just as Marvel's Avengers did a few years ago.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is available for PC and all major consoles.
