10. Wraith

When the "worst" boss fight of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 easily surpasses a lot of fights in previous entries of Insomniac's saga, you know a great improvement was made.

There are many parallels between the Wraith boss fight and Tombstone's in Marvel's Spider-Man for PS4. They both played a part in a secondary mission, they took place in a burning building, and they both had an antagonist that (at some point) used a chain as its main weapon. Since neither one of them was a part of a main quest they don't have a grand scope or offer a lot of variety in terms of enemy attacks. However, that didn't stop them from feeling extremely climatic thanks to its setting filled with falling debris and an arena that slowly becomes smaller due to the growing fire.

One of the best aspects of this fight is the amazing dialogue between Spider-Man and Yuri Watanabe. Whereas the latter believes Cletus Kasady needs to be killed to stop the carnage and massacres he commits, Spidey stands on the idea that there are better ways to stop him. It's reminiscent of the argument between Daredevil and Punisher in Daredevil Season 2 (and we all know how great the ideological conflict between them was). The fight ends with Wraith delivering one of the best lines in the game after Cletus manages to escape:

You need to figure out your priorities because I'd rather lose sleep over the person I killed than all of the ones I didn't save.

Aside from the incredible writing, the boss itself can be pretty challenging as well. Repetition is key, so players should expect to die more than once at the hands of Wraith. Thankfully (or unfortunately, depending on how you choose to see it) she doesn't have many attack patterns and they don't change in any major way depending on what stage of the boss you're in. Besides, if you've come used to the parrying system by that point of the game, she will be quite a lot easier to beat.

Even if Wraith is positioned at the bottom of this list, her boss fight was far away from being bad. It had a great setting and flawless dialog. Besides, it was actually challenging for once. We can't wait to see what Yuri's and Cletus' roles will be in any upcoming Insomniac project.
