Rumor has it, this MCU character's story isn't over just yet (and that's great news)
Earlier today, we got some spicy updates on Marvel Studio projects and plans thanks to the latest episode of the Cosmic Circus podcast with Alex Perez, and we're going to focus on one of them.
In the podcast episode, Alex dropped a hint that's got the Marvel fandom buzzing louder than a hive of bees at a honey convention: if you thought Wanda Maximoff's story was all wrapped up in a neat little spellbinding package, I'm happy to ask you to think again.
One of the questions asked in the Q&A involved a cryptic "wakey wakey" post Alex had tweeted out a year ago. I mean, it was a whole year ago, but who doesn't love a good mystery, right? When asked Alex about it, we all leaned a little closer to our devices, ready for a revelation, and Alex did not disappoint. Apparently, "wakey wakey" was Alex's way of bookmarking a day when something intriguing about the Scarlet Witch crossed his path. It's like his personal reminder that Wanda's got some unfinished business, and he's letting us in on the secret, albeit in a very tantalizing, "I-know-something-you-don't-know" kind of way.
And the plot thickens! Alex couldn't spill the magical beans just yet, but he assured us that Wanda's tale is far from over. Cue the collective gasp of every Marvel fan out there. Is she coming back to right more wrongs? Is there a multiverse twist that brings her back into the fray? The possibilities are as endless as Doctor Strange's cloak collection.
Now, onto the next burning question: Could Elizabeth Olsen, our Mother Lizzie, possibly don another superhero suit in the MCU? The question hits the nail on the head, and Alex's response was as intriguing as it was evasive. "Interesting question," he said. Interesting? Interesting?! That's like telling us there's a surprise party but not saying when or where. The idea of Elizabeth Olsen playing another character does not spark joy. She's embodied Wanda so perfectly, it would be insanely hard to imagine her as anyone else. But hey, in the world of Marvel, anything is possible. Remember Chris Evans as Johnny Storm before he was Captain America? Exactly.
When asked if Marvel had any plans for Rio Vidal and if there was a chance we'd see a reunion between Aubrey Plaza and Elizabeth Olsen, Alex's answer was a definitive "Definitely." Cue the fireworks! Aubrey Plaza and Elizabeth Olsen together again in a Marvel project? That's a dream team we didn't know we needed until now. Can you imagine the on-screen chemistry, the sass, the pure magic these two would bring?
So, what's the takeaway from all this tantalizing tidbittery? Wanda Maximoff's story isn't over, and there's more magic on the horizon. And, the MCU is always full of surprises, with potential new characters and reunions that are sure to keep our hearts racing and our eyes glued to the screen.
In the end, we might not have all the answers just yet (and might have a few more questions than we originally did), but one thing's for sure: the MCU is alive with possibilities, and we, the fans, are here for every twist, turn, and tantalizing hint that comes our way.
