10. The first Thor movie is underrated

The first Thor movie is not well-regarded by that many people. In fact, most think that the God of Thunder's true solo success didn't start until his more comedy-focused third installment Thor: Ragnarok. So imagine my surprise when, upon watching Thor back, I realized that it was actually a really good movie.

Now don't get me wrong, it's not one of the MCU's most artistic movies and there are some dated elements in there, but it does a pretty great job of introducing us to Chris Hemsworth's head-strong yet humorous hero. The battle with the Frost Giants is a thrill to watch and it's a reminder that the MCU should really dive into the mythological aspect of Thor more often and leave the humorous space stories to the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Thor is a very 2000s superhero movie and that might have aged it by today's standards, but it also means that it's one of the few MCU movies that has its own unique identity. While a lot of the modern fare all feel similar, Thor is a bit of a romcom of days-gone-by with a touch of Norse mythology and heroism thrown in for good measure. The romance between Thor and Jane might not be the MCU's best, but Hemsworth and Natalie Portman's chemistry makes it work.

Honestly, Thor doesn't get enough love. It was light-hearted and fun without being over-the-top and silly. The character's upcoming fifth movie could benefit from being more like this one and a lot less like Love and Thunder.
