2023 has been yet another eventful year for the entertainment industry, and I have a feeling this will be one we will never forget. Of course, I’m talking mostly about the writers’ and actors’ strikes that made headlines and history as the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) fought for new terms to their contracts with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).

The writers’ strike concluded in September and the actors’ came to a close in November, ending months of uncertainty for the creatives behind some of our favorite shows and movies. Now, studios are trying to catch up and figure out when to release some of their biggest titles.

This year has also been a big one for renewals and cancellations, and unfortunately, as we enter 2024, we know some of the most popular and beloved series will be coming to an end. As the strikes have pushed back many highly-anticipated titles to 2025, I’m super curious to see what shows and movies will rule next year. I’m already really looking forward to House of the Dragon season 2, which will premiere in the summertime, and I’m crossing my fingers that the series that will air their series finales next year do so on a high note.

So which shows are ending next year? We’re breaking down five you should mentally and emotionally get ready to say goodbye to in 2024, starting with a CW favorite here at Bam Smack Pow.
