A new leaked photo from the set of Daredevil: Born Again has made its way online for everyone to see, and this one is particularly special. Other pictures from the anticipated Disney+ series gave us our best look at Matt Murdock's and Bullseye's new costumes. However, this recent image reveals more than the suit characters will sport on the small screen. It spoils the return of a key figure of the Netflix Marvel series. So if you want to go in blind into Matt Murdock's upcoming adventure and be surprised by its many twists and turns, take this as an official warning:

Spoilers will follow for Daredevil: Born Again.

The Disney+ series was originally set to give us a unique spin on the Man Without Fear completely different from what we'd seen in the Netflix adaptation. It was reported that key characters such as Karen, Foggy, and Bullseye wouldn't have prominent roles this time around or wouldn't return altogether. However, a recent shift in direction for the series changed all of that. Not only will Matt's closest friends will make a return, but a new vigilante will also be added into the mix.

That's right, Jon Bernthal's Punisher will appear in Daredevil: Born Again.

As if it wasn't enough, we also have a behind-the-scenes image of Jon Bernthal, Charlie Cox, and Deborah Ann Woll spending time together on set:

While it's incredibly exciting to see Frank Castle back in action (and sporting a bloody face), his return also signals a big problem is coming for Hell Kitchen's vigilantes.

What does the Punisher return means for the series?

What would push Daredevil and the Punisher to team up once again if not an old enemy in common? Previous rumors indicated Wilson Fisk would act as the main antagonist of Daredevil: Born Again. The Kingpin of crime was reportedly set to become the mayor of New York City, and Echo's post-credits scene all but confirmed that theory. With that, many suspected the supervillain would take leverage of this new position to hunt down some of his biggest opponents. And wouldn't you know it, that's exactly what he'll do.

Another leaked photo from the set of Daredevil: Born Again reveals Wilson Fisk will create the Vigilante Task Force to take down The Man Without Fear and Punisher, among others. You can watch the picture below:

Aside from huge story implications, Frank Castle's return also indicates the Disney+ series is heading in the right creative direction. Jon Bernthal mentioned in the Geek House Show podcast that he would return as The Punisher in the MCU only if his character was done right:

"And when we get the call to go, I will be ready, and I will make sure that I do everything I can to make sure that we do it right, or we will not do it at all."

Jon Bernthal

Now that his return is confirmed, fans can rest easy knowing the MCU series has nailed down Frank Castle's essence. And if that's the case, then we can expect Daredevil to have the same treatment as well. Now it's just a matter of waiting for 2025 to come so that we can discover what Marvel has in store for us. But one thing's for sure; the wait will feel longer now that we have this great news.
