4 Arrowverse heroes who definitely won't be back in Superman and Lois season 4

Superman and Lois' final season will officially end the Arrowverse era, but don't be expecting these DC TV titans to appear.

Supergirl

This is probably the cameo appearance that fans are hoping for the most. Melissa Benoist has worked with Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch multiple times over on Supergirl and we've all been longing to see her reunite with the pair on Superman and Lois at least just once.

There are many reasons for that, but one of the biggest is the fact that Kara never got to have any kind of final moment with her cousin on Supergirl's final season due to pandemic protocols when it came to crossing over with other shows, so even though this is a different version of Superman and Lois Lane than the Supergirl versions, it still would have been worth it to see the trio on-screen together one more time.

Benoist is currently promoting her new Max series The Girls on the Bus and even though filming on it has wrapped, the likelihood of her being back in Vancouver over the next few months to shoot a Supergirl cameo is unlikely. Not completely out of the question, sure, but bringing in the Girl of Steel on Superman and Lois would require a lot of explanation at a time when the show doesn't really have the bandwidth to explain it.

Not only would another Kryptonian require more CGI (and The CW slashed the budget significantly), Kara doesn't exist on that show's earth. Bringing in a new version of her would need more than one episode of storytelling and having the Arrowverse version show up would also require a ton of multiverse-related explanation.

Melissa Benoist has been open to the idea of putting the suit back on for an appearance on Superman and Lois, but unfortunately, due to the fact that this is the final season on a very limited budget, a Supergirl appearance likely won't come to frution before the series concludes.
