6. Malina Weissman

Appeared in: Supergirl (seasons 1 and 2)

When Supergirl premiered on CBS, there were a number of flashbacks to young Kara Zor-El's time on Krypton before and during the planet's explosion that changed her life forever. Young actress Malina Weissman was tasked with playing Kara during these pivotal scenes and she did a wonderful job.

She's actually the very first performer we see play Kara on the show as Supergirl kicks off with a flashback to that fateful day on Krypton. As you can imagine, that's heavy material to work with and Weissman never once falters with it; delivering a performance with such emotion in it that you feel the gravity of the moment right away. It set a high bar for the show right away, and she had such strong chemistry with veteran actress Laura Benanti, who played her mother Alura.

Weissman was 12 at the time and the performance she produced was truly great. She was also great playing the young Kara throughout the first two seasons; it's just a shame that she didn't get more of a chance to recur before exiting the role when she began starring in Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events - which she was also fantastic in.
