The Girl of Steel has become a fixture of DC Comics since her inception in 1959. The cousin of Superman, Kara Zorl-El is an incredibly popular hero in her own right, headlining her own film, a highly successful TV series that ran for six seasons, as well as making appearances in other films, animated TV shows and video games.

She's set to head back to the mainstream in the near future as the upcoming Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow film will bring her back to the big screen and introduce her to the DC Universe. House of the Dragon's Milly Alcock will play the role, adding herself to the line up of phenomenal actresses to take on the role.

As we prepare for the DCU film's release, one of the things that fans are most excited to see is what the new Supergirl suit will look like. Like her cousin, the Girl of Steel's super suit showcases the iconic House of El coat of arms (or the "S" symbol), and it's highly likely that this will remain. But will it be joined by the classic red skirt, or will it take a more modernized approach the character's DCEU iteration?

With that in mind, let's take this opportunity to look back at all of Supergirl's previous live-action suits - and, while we're at it, rank them.
